Experience the Pageant of the Masters, a fabulous stage production where life imitates art as classic paintings and sculptures are re-created with living models and presented in an amphitheater under the stars, with a full orchestra and live narration. Explore the Huntington Library & Gardens, a Gilded Age estate filled with treasures such as a Gutenberg Bible and artwork by Gainsborough, Casset and Hopper. Cruise Newport Beach’s lovely harbor. 
Daily Itinerary:
Day 1 Tues., Aug. 8th                 Travel to Costa Mesa/ Newport Area                                             (L)
Travel to Southern California, stopping for lunch en route. Arrive in the early evening for a 
three night stay at the Ayers Hotel in the Costa Mesa/Newport area.   
Day 2 Wed., Aug. 9th                Huntington Library & Gardens                               (Br, D)
Visit the elegant Huntington Library and Gardens with a docent led tour.  You’ll learn how Henry and Arabella Huntington turned their San Marino Ranch into a world famous cultural landmark. 
An elegant buffet brunch is served at the Huntington’s Rose Garden Tea Room. This evening, choose to relax at the hotel or take a short drive to Newport Harbor and an independent dinner on the water.
Day 3 Thurs., Aug. 10th    Festival of the Arts & Pageant of the Masters                      (B, D)
Cruise Newport Beach’s opulent harbor, passing the homes of the rich and famous, including George Burns, Shirley Temple and William Wrigley. Return to the hotel to relax in the afternoon before departing for the Art-A-Fair art show, and dinner on its grounds. Explore the Festival Arts before the spectacular Pageant of the Masters.
Day 4 Fri., Aug. 11th        Autry Center       (B, L)
Enjoy the outstanding collection of western art at the Autry Museum before traveling home, stopping for lunch en route.

Activity Requirement 
The Huntington Library and estate requires substantial walking. Other activities require walking 4-5 blocks at a time. 

The Pageant of the Masters is outdoors in the evening. Bring binoculars, a sweater or jacket, and you may consider a lap robe.
