Journey through the historic Hudson River Valley, visiting the United States Military Academy at West Point. Enjoy guided tours of the homes of Eleanor Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt and the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park. Explore the highlights of Manhattan including Wall Street, the 9-11 Memorial & Museum, Central Park and the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Rockefeller Center, and much more. Take in two Broadway performances.

Daily Itinerary:
Day 1 Thurs., Sept. 15 Fly to New York & Travel to the Hudson River Valley      (D)
Fly nonstop to New York City and travel into the picturesque Hudson River Valley. Enjoy a welcome dinner and stay three nights at the Hyatt House in Fishkill. 

Day 2 Fri., Sept. 16 USMA West Point & Mohonk Mountain House   (B, L)
Visit the historic United States Military Academy at West Point, founded in 1802. Explore the fantastic Mohonk Mountain House Resort after our lunch buffet overlooking the lake. In the late afternoon we will stroll across the Walkway Over The Hudson.

Day 3 Sat. Sept. 17 Val Kill, Vanderbilt Mansion & FDR’s Home                    (B, L) 
Tour three very different estates in the Hyde Park area. Begin with Val-Kill, Eleanor Roosevelt’s retreat. Next is the Vanderbilt’s Gilded Age pleasure palace used during New York society’s social season. After lunch at Coppola’s Italian Restaurant, finish at Springwood, President Franklin Roosevelt’s home. Explore the FDR Presidential Library.
 
Day 4 Sun.,  Sept. 18 Lincoln Center, St. John the Divine & Central Park                                  (B)
Travel to Manhattan’s Upper West Side to Lincoln Center and learn the history of this famous performing arts complex. Tour the exquisite Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the fourth largest Christian church in the world. View Harlem’s recent renaissance.  Stroll through Central Park and travel along the posh Upper East Side. This evening it’s off for a performance on Broadway. 

Day 5 Mon., Sept., 19 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Wall Street, Greenwich Village                                                  
Visit the World Trade Center site and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum at Ground Zero. Walk along Wall Street’s concrete canyons, travel through the eclectic neighborhoods of Greenwich Village and SoHo, and stop for coffee and pastry in Little Italy. Tonight enjoy a second Broadway performance.

Day 6 Tues., Sept. 20           Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island                                                                       
Travel by ferry across the New York Harbor from Battery Park to Liberty Island, home of the Statue of Liberty.  Enjoy a guided tour of the island before our next stop, Ellis Island, which chronicles the journey of millions of immigrants to America.  If you have the energy, tonight enjoy an optional third Broadway performance (Extra Charge). While in New York City, take in all that you can.

Day 7 Wed., Sept. 21          Goodbye To New York City
Today we will conclude our time in New York City with the sites we may may of missed the last three days. Travel to the One World Observatory at the top of One World Trade Center. Drive across the Brooklyn Bridge, and visit Rockefeller Center and Grand Central Station.
