Daily Itinerary:
Day 1 Tues., April 9th           Travel North to Santa Rosa and on to Fort Bragg                        (L,D)
Our tour starts a day with a tour of the famous Jelly Belly Factory which dates back to 1969.
We will then circle across San Pablo Bay and head north again to the town of Santa Rosa for an included lunch in the quaint downtown. Arrive in Ft. Bragg on the rugged Northern California coast in the mid-afternoon. Your accommodations are at the centrally located Holiday Inn Express Fort Bragg, a 10 minute walk to the beach. Enjoy dinner tonight on the water at the popular Wharf Restaurant, as you watch the fishing boats return from the sea.
Day 2 Wed., April 10th         The Skunk Train, Point Cabrillo Lighthouse & Mendocino  (B,L,D)
Enjoy an optional walk on the beach or a  free morning at your hotel and then take a ride on the “Skunk Train” along Pudding Creek thought the Redwood Forest of the California Coast Range. Founded in 1885, the Fort Bragg Railroad was created to more easily remove logged timber from the coastal forest. Lunch is served nearby at the North Coast Brewing Company, known for it's award-winning beers and excellent pub-style food.   In the afternoon, discover the unique history of the  Pt. Cabrillo Lighthouse, nestled in between Ft. Bragg and Mendocino. Dinner is included
this evening.
Day 3  Thurs., April 11th      MacKerricher State Park & Mendocino Botanical Gardens      (B,D)
This morning travel north to MacKerricher State Park for a docent-guided stroll along the park’s impressive seaside boardwalk at Laguna Point. In the afternoon, visit the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. Founded in 1961, the gardens are known for their species of Rhododendrons that produce some of the most fragrant blossoms of the year. Native to the cloud forests of Southeast Asia and the Himalayas, these gems are by their growing requirements to a narrow band along the northern California coast in the U.S., where they thrive in the foggy, coastal climate. Return to your hotel in the afternoon for rest and dinner this evening.
Day 4 Fri., April 12th           Ridgeway Ranch Seabiscuit & The Charles Schultz Museum   (B,L)
Depart Ft. Bragg this morning and discover Ridgewood Ranch, the final home of the famous
racing horse Seabiscuit, whose story gave hope and inspired many during the darkest days of the Great Depression. A private tour of the ranch is followed by lunch. A final stop is the Charles Schultz Museum in Santa Rosa. Celebrate the life of the internationally loved artist who brought to life the characters of Snoopy and Charlie Brown. Return home in the last afternoon.
