Experience the Pageant of the Masters, a fabulous stage production where life imitates art as classic paintings and sculptures are re-created with living models and presented in an amphitheater under the stars, with a full orchestra and live narration. Explore the Getty Center, a museum with something for everyone, art from the Middle Ages to today, set amid modern architecture, unique gardens, and spectacular city views. Visit the Getty Villa Museum where Greek and Roman antiquities are housed in a recreated Roman Country home. Tour the Nethercutt Museum with over 250 perfectly restored automobiles, mechanical music and luxury artifacts.

Daily Itinerary:
Day 1 Mon., July 13th              Travel to Costa Mesa/Newport Area                                                 (L)
Travel to Southern California, stopping for lunch en route. Arrive in the early evening for a 
three night stay at the Ayers Hotel in the Costa Mesa/Newport area.  

Day 2 Tues., July 14th               The Getty Center Los Angeles                                                            (B)
Visit the incredible Getty Museum. Explore galleries featuring European paintings, decorative arts, and photography. Explore the living work of art “The Central Garden”, designed by artist Robert Irwin, with circular paths containing over 500 varieties of plants. This evening, choose to relax at the hotel or take a short drive to Newport Harbor for an independent dinner near the waterfront.
Day 3 Wed., July 15th         Getty Villa & Pageant of the Masters                                              (B,L,D)
Off to the The Getty Villa, a one of a kind destination that offers ancient Greek and Roman art, tranquil gardens, and ocean breezes. Return to the hotel to relax in the afternoon before departing for dinner and the highlight of the tour, The Pageant of the Masters. The art and artists that have defined history take center stage in this years theme, “The Greatest of All Time.” This masterful production will take you on an unforgettable journey through the works of Michelangelo, Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, Velázquez, Norman Rockwell and more. Masterpieces won’t just hang on walls—they’ll come alive in a breathtaking blend of art, music, and theatrical wonder.
Day 4 Thurs., July 16th     The Nethercutt Collection  & Return Home                                       (B,L)
Step into elegance at the Nethercutt Collection, where exquisitely restored classic automobiles, grand salons, and mechanical music transport visitors to a golden age of craftsmanship, luxury, and innovation. Lunch in Valencia on the way home.

Activity Requirements and Trip Advice -Some activities require walking, up to 4-5 blocks at a time. Touring the Getty Museums & The Nethercutt Museum includes some stairs and some standing. The Pageant of the Masters is outdoors in the evening (rain or shine). Bring binoculars, a sweater or jacket, and you may consider a lap robe.
