Stay in one seaside hotel to explore New England’s charming islands and rugged coastline. Celebrate America’s history, including the 400th year of the Pilgrim’s landing to Nantucket’s whaling heritage and the Gilded Age opulence of Newport, Rhode Island.

Daily Itinerary:
Day 1 Tues., Sept. 7             To Boston & the Cape                                                     (D)
Motor coach transportation to San Francisco airport and fly to Boston, then settle in for a six night stay at the Red Jacket Beach Resort on the sandy shores of Cape Cod’s Nantucket Sound.
Day 2 Wed., Sept. 8              Plymouth Rock                                           (B, D)
Visit Hyannisport, home of the Kennedy family. Stop at Plymouth Rock, where the Pilgrims first landed, then step back in time at Plymouth Plantation, a living history museum with actors portraying Pilgrams and Native Americans. Tonight is a Thanksgiving-style dinner of the 1600s.
Day 3 Thurs., Sept. 9              Nantucket Island                                                             (B)
Board the high-speed ferry to Nantucket Island, once the world’s whaling capital. Now a popular vacation spot for the wealthy, its charm is associated with it’s cobblestone streets, Quaker-style homes and handsome historic houses. Tour the island with free time to stroll Nantucket’s delightful downtown before returning by ferry to the mainland.
Day 4 Fri., Sept. 10            Newport, Rhode Island                                   (B, L)
Tour two of Newport, Rhode Island’s grand mansions, including the Vanderbilt’s “The Breakers”, a 70 room Renaissance-style villa. Lunch is served at the historic Tennis Hall of Fame.
Day 5 Sat., Sept. 11                  Cape Cod Seashore & Dune Ride                         (B, D)
The Cape is known for its wild seashores, picturesque lighthouses, tiny villages and scenic vistas. Enjoy some free time on the artistic Provincetown waterfront before taking a dune ride tour in suburbans.
Day 6 Sun., Sept. 12           Martha’s Vineyard Island                                         (B, D)
Ferry to exclusive Martha’s Vineyard. Admire the stately historic homes built by wealthy sea captains in the late 1700s and enjoy the posh vacation atmosphere of today. After a day on the island, return by ferry to the mainland for a traditional lobster bake.
Day 7 Mon., Sept. 13                    Historic Boston                                                  (B, L)
In historic Boston walk through the Boston Commons, America’s oldest public garden. Stand at the site of the Boston Massacre and visit Old North Church. Enjoy a farewell lunch before flying to San Francisco and returning via motor coach to San Joaquin County.

requires an extended amount of standing and
