Stay two nights on Mackinac Island, leisurely exploring the resort island, riding a horse carriage, and lunch at the Grand Hotel. Tour the Ford Factory, and The Henry Ford Museum and Village. Visit the quaint town of Frankenmuth and cruise on the Bavarian Belle Riverboat. Tour Detroit and visit the Motown Museum. Farewell dinner at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford Estate.

Daily Itinerary:
Day 1 Thurs., Aug. 8                Fly To Detroit, Michigan               (D)
Fly to Detroit, and drive to Allen Park for a 2-night stay at the Best Western Greenfield Inn.

Day 2 Fri., Aug. 9              Ford Factory Tour, The Henry Ford Museum & Village           (B,D)
Enjoy the Ford Factory Tour, which tells the story of the Ford Motor Company and you will walk through the assembly plant and see the most famous Ford vehicles in the Legacy Gallery. The rest of the afternoon is at the Henry Ford Greenfield Village and Museum where you can ride in a Model T, a carousel and access the Steam Engine Train.

Day 3 Sat., Aug. 10           Frankenmuth, Pretzel Making, Riverboat & Shopping             (B,D)
Tour the town of Frankenmuth, known for its Bavarian style architecture and where Christmas
is always just around the corner. Enjoy a pretzel making class before your riverboat ride on the 
Bavarian Belle. Visit Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, with time for shopping in the Worlds 
Largest Christmas Store.

Day 4 Sun., Aug. 11          Travel  to Mackinac Island                                           (B, D)
Drive through scenic country en route to Mackinac City. Take the ferry to Mackinac Island for a two-night stay in Mackinac’s charming downtown which is easily explorable on foot (no cars are allowed on the island). From its bluff cottages to its quaint horse-drawn carriages this peaceful resort island offers a glimpse into life during a genteel era. 

Day 5 Mon., Aug. 12    Carriage Tour & the Grand Hotel                                                        (B, L)
Tour the Island via horse-drawn carriage and enjoy Mackinac’s quiet pace. The island is a natural gem with over eighty percent of its land preserved by Mackinac State Park, a wooded paradise accented with limestone formations and ringed by Lake Huron. Dine at the Victorian Grand Hotel, with time to sit in the famous porch rockers and walk the grounds of the resort.

Day 6 Tues., Aug. 13    City Tour of Detroit                  (B, L)
Ferry back to Mackinaw City and travel south to Detroit. 
Enjoy an Eastern European lunch and the Polish Village Cafe. In the afternoon we will tour the City of Detroit before heading to Troy, MI for a two night stay.
Day 7 Wed., Aug. 14   The Parade Company Studio Tour, Motown Museum and The Ford House (B, D)
Tour The Parade Company Detroit Studio for a behind-the-scenes look at America’s Thanksgiving Parade. Visit the Motown Museum where Berry Gordy founded Motown records in 1959. We will end our day with a tour and dinner at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford Estate.
Day 8 Thurs., Aug.15   Homeward Bound                                      (B)
Depart Detroit and fly to to San Francisco, transferring via motor coach to Manteca, Stockton & Lodi.
