Experience the Pageant of the Masters, a fabulous stage production where life imitates art as classic paintings and sculptures are re-created with living models and presented in an amphitheater under the stars, with a full orchestra and live narration. Explore the Huntington Library & Gardens, a Gilded Age estate filled with treasures such as a Gutenberg Bible and artwork by Gainsborough, Casset and Hopper. Tour the Richard Nixon Presidential Library & Museum and explore the diverse beauty of the Descanso Gardens.




Daily Itinerary:

Day 1	Sun., August 3rd Travel to Costa Mesa/Newport Area (L) Travel to Southern California, stopping for lunch en route. Arrive in the early evening for a three night stay at the Ayers Hotel in the Costa Mesa/Newport area.

Day 2	Mon., August 4th Huntington Library, Art Museum & Gardens (B,L) Visit The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens, known as The Huntington, it is a collection established by Henry E. Huntington and Arabella Huntington in San Marino, California. The Art Museum houses an extensive art collection with a focus on 18th and 19th century European art and 17th to mid-20th century American art. The property has several specialized botanical landscaped gardens, including the “Japanese Garden”, the “Desert Garden”, and the “Chinese Garden”. A gourmet boxed lunch will be available after out tour to enjoy at you leisure. This evening, choose to relax at the hotel or take a short drive to Newport Harbor for an independent dinner on the waterfront.

Day 3	Tues., August 5th Nixon Presidential Library & Pageant of the Masters (B,L,D) Tour the Nixon Presidential Library and Museum. Dedicated in 1990, it houses the personal property and presidential papers of our 37th president. A box luncheon will be served in the colonnade facing the First Lady Rose Garden. Return to the hotel to relax in the afternoon before departing for dinner and the highlight of the tour, The Pageant of the Masters. Located at the Festival of Arts grounds in Laguna beach it has offered a breathtaking showcase for artists and art lovers for 93 years. This highly acclaimed juried art show features the work of over 100 award-winning Orange County artists.

Day 4	Wed., August 6th Descano Gardens & Return Home (B,L) Visit Descanso Gardens on the northern edge of the San Rafael Hills. Walk the many paths and trails taking in the lush gardens and colorful native flowers. Lunch in Valencia on the way home.
