Get your kicks on Route 66 with a legendary trip across the heartland of America. This historic route, which was called the “Main Street of America” for more than 50 years, before the advent of the US Interstate system, was completed in 1926. Beginning in Chicago, we will travel through Illinois, Missouri & Oklahoma stepping back in time to when the journey was part of the fun! 

Daily Itinerary:
Day 1 Tuesday, August 19th          Fly to Chicago, Route 66 Sign, SkyDeck Chicago    (D)
Fly nonstop to Chicago for a one night stay.  Enjoy a photo op at the Historic Begin Route 66 Sign. Visit the SkyDeck Chicago on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower with a view of Route 66.
Day 2 Wednesday, August 20th                 Joliet Historical Museum, Route 66 Hall of Fame Museum, Paul Bunyan Statue & World’s Largest Railsplitter Covered Wagon                         (B,D)
Visit the Home to The Official Route 66 Visitor Center in Joliet, IL. Next on to the Route 66 Hall of Fame Museum with its thousands of artifacts. Enjoy a photo op with the 19 ft. tall Paul Bunyan Statue. Continue on to the Railsplitter Covered Wagon in Springfield, IL.
Day 3 Thursday, August 21st                 Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum, Ace Sign Company Sign Museum & the Lauterbach Route 66 Muffler Man                                              (B,D) 
Visit the Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum, dedicated to the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln. See the collection of over 85 historic signs from Route 66 at the Ace Sign Museum. Photo op at the Route 66 Muffler Man. We will end our day at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. 
Day 4 Friday,  August 22nd    World’s Largest Catsup Bottle, St. Louis Gateway Arch       (B,D)
Visit the World’s Largest Catsup Bottle for a photo op. Visit the Gateway Arch, our nation’s tallest man-made monument, the symbol of westward expansion. The Gateway Arch experience includes the Tram Ride to the Top, the Museum at Gateway Arch and the Monument to the Dream movie. 
Day 5 Saturday, August 23rd   Route 66 Mural Park, Pole Park, Blue Whale of Catoosa         (B)
Enjoy a stop at Route 66 Mural Park with its two large tile murals “Cruisin’ into Joplin” and “The American Ribbon”. Continue on to Pole Park with its 90-foot carved concrete pole. Conclude our day at the Blue Whale of Catoosa, which is a waterfront structure and a Route 66 favorite.
Day 6 Sunday, August 24th   Tulsa City Tour, Buc Atom’s Cosmic Curios on 66, Woody Guthie Center, Bob Dylan Center and POPS 66                                                                     (B,D)
Enjoy a guided tour of Tulsa. After a stop at Buc Atom’s Cosmic Curios on 66, we will visit the Woody Guthrie Center “This Land Is Your Land” and the Bob Dylan Center which was created and is owned by Bob Dylan. The day ends with a stop at POPS 66, a landmark on Route 66.
Day 7 Monday, August 25th      Ben Johnson Cowboy Museum & Food Network Star Ree Drummond (B,L)
Learn about Oklahoma’s Western film history at the 
Ben Johnson Cowboy Museum. Enjoy lunch at Food 
Network Star Ree Drummond’s Pioneer Woman Mercantile.
Day 8 Tuesday, August 26th    National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum                                                    (B)
Our Route 66 adventure ends with a visit to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and the 
American Banjo Museum Depart for home from the Will Rogers World Airport.
